SDG 3’s main priority is to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all ages. This SDG is crucial as we are currently living in an unprecedented time due to the coronavirus pandemic. Eclean Technologies tackles this goal by manufacturing natural and effective cleaning products. Their eco-friendly products benefit the daily lives of Americans because it creates an accessible and sanitized living environment. By providing these services, eClean Technologies is promoting good health and well being for their customers. Overall we see eClean Technologies align with SDG number 3 directly through their mission statement: “To promote health and safety and reduce chemical use”. After reviewing their company mission, it is evident eClean Technologies is working towards a sustainable future.

(6) Clean Water and Sanitation

SDG 6, the main priority of this goal is for clean water and sanitation for all. This is perfectly executed by Eclean. Their whole business is set up for the ability to decontaminate the water we use and sanitize more efficiently and effectively than using any chemicals. As Mr. Gallanis said “Our innovation eliminates the need for chemicals, Our mission is to eliminate all chemical contamination in every sector. Our main goal is to be in the commercial sector, however our home applications are something we are striving for too. The reason our main goal is commercial is because they are the biggest causes of water contamination by chemicals purely because of the high volume of disinfection that they need to perform by law.”

(9) Industry Innovation and Infrastructure

SDG 9 focuses on promoting innovation in all industries through the eyes of sustainability. EClean technology is patent pending. They have created their own technology to create ozone and has been proven to clean as well and better than all popular cleaning products. Mr. Gallanis explained in the interview, “Our proprietary technology is changing the way residential, commercial, and public spaces are sanitized for increased health and safety by eliminating the use of harsh chemicals and improving the cleanliness while effectively eradicating bacteria and viruses. Our systems reduce cleaning time, have been proven to be safer, and ultimately are a more efficient all-natural sanitizer. By using our products, residential, municipalities, and businesses have experienced a reduction in expenses associated with the high cost of chemicals and storage and are protecting the environment.” Through eliminating chemicals, the water discarded through the cleaning process is not contaminated with harsh chemicals that costs a lot of money to filter out of the water. Their technology not only lowers the costs of their consumer, but also lowers the costs of the cities, states, and countries when it comes to water treatment.

(12) Responsible Consumption and Production

SDG 12 emphasizes the importance of ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns. Over the years the global material footprint and the world’s electronic waste has increased. Items like single use plastic bags and disposable plastic bottles are becoming more and more popular and are directly increasing our footprint. SDG 12’s focus is to help civilians stay away from these unsustainable patterns and look towards mindful consumption and production of companies. eClean technologies focuses on clean technology and production through their use of O3 science. They utilize aqueous ozone which is 100% natural. Therefore their products are not releasing any harmful chemicals into the environment while in use which helps eliminate toxic chemical waste. Their cleaning processes contain zero carcinogens, toxins, or chemicals making their productions natural and eco-friendly.

Inspiration

eClean technologies came to existence during the beginning of the pandemic, resulting when the founders noticed how various chemical cleaning products caused damage and deterioration. During the interview Pete Gallanis said "We all witnessed how certain things especially credit card machines were somewhat ruined by the constant use of chemicals" Pete Gallanis also spoke about how he knew that there had to be a more effective yet more sustainable way to clean without ruining surfaces and products but also without ruining the environment and contaminating water with harsh chemicals. They were able to leverage their existing knowledge of Ozone technologies, hire a team of engineers, and successfully develop their patent pending technologies.

Overall impact

Business Benefit: eClean technologies was founded as a result of the innovation discussed above. They are currently using this innovation for business benefit through their contracts with various businesses and casinos in Las Vegas, as well as plan to slowly move into larger sectors.

Social and Environmental Impact: Society is positively impacted through the removal of chemical contamination found in cleaning products, as well as a more cost effective and efficient way to clean. The environment is also impacted due to the removal of pollution as a result of chemical cleaning products

Pete Gallanis also explained "Through our contracts in Las Vegas, the casinos and businesses we are currently working with have saved a large amount of money due to the elimination of the need of chemicals."

In addition to the previous quote he also spoke about their growth plan when he said "We are slowly moving into larger sectors. We hope that in the next few years we can grow to a point where we have a large market share in the cleaning products business. We believe we can get there because of how clean our technology is and it helps society because there is no contamination with our process."

Social and environmental benefit

eClean's technology which is patent pending completely eliminates the need for chemicals to be used. Through their machines that create O3, they have been lab tested and proven to kill just as well or better than all household and commercially used chemicals.

With the use of their technology, they make great progress in water decontamination efforts because the water is not riddled with harsh chemicals. Through the use of eClean's machines, cities, states, and countries have a lower cost on water purification and also greatly reduce the harm to the environment that harsh chemicals cause.
