The innovation “Échale los kilos” was created in 2015 as a race with the idea of promoting good eating habits and physical activation to have a healthier lifestyle within the company. This contributes to the life purpose of the collaborators and their families, consisting of a call for all collaborators to participate voluntarily in a national race and compete with other workers to see who can lose more kilos within a time limit. In this way, they contribute to obtaining the greatest amount of kilos lost among the entire population of the company.
The idea emerged when the company decided to equip all its warehouses nationwide with instructors and equipment so that all workers participate in an initial race to compete for benefits. The main stakeholders were the General Directorate and the Operations Directorate of the company, which were the ones who granted the permits and resources for the program to be carried out.
Race "Échale los kilos" 2020
As mentioned before, the idea was inspired by the promotion of good eating habits and physical activation, in addition to financially helping private institutions that promote the goal of Good Health and Well-being through the organization of the Private Assistance Board of Sinaloa. But mainly, it comes from the reality that we live in the country; we are the first place in the world for obesity, and this, in the eyes of all those involved, is a reality that needs to be changed first within the family and work environments.
This innovation has caused many positive consequences within the work environment of the company. From the improvement of competitiveness inside and outside the company, the real change of the employees to improve their quality of life, and the support to institutions that promote and help society, all of this is a general view of all the impact that the program has had on the company and the social environment.
There were several very positive consequences within the company, such as motivated, happy, grateful and above all healthy staff; since they have lost a great number of kilos during these 5 years that this race has been carried out.
In society, it can be seen that each employee of the company manifests and transmits to their families and close friends the motivation to have a healthy lifestyle, in addition to the fact that the program has an altruistic approach, many people are invited to participate and thus also help benefit the private institutions that the race supports with the collection of monetary resources. All these actions create benefits that help a more global environment, not only within the company but also in many other environments.
