The operations of the store are designed in a manner that there is the minimal waste generation and minimal use of plastic. The organization is working towards achieving the sustainable goal of responsible production and consumption and climate action.

The founders of the business said: “ We were involved in organic farming and we used to supply organic products, during this time we observed that everything was plastically packed and plastic never decomposes, we also got the feedback from our customers that they don’t want the organic products wrapped in plastic, we also got to know about the later effects of plastic disposal on environment and how harmful it is, all of these factors inspire us to start a store like Adrish.”
Adrish's innovation is one-of-a-kind. Following the zero-waste and organic principles can greatly benefit society. Climate talks are taking place all over the world, implying that global warming awareness is growing by the day. This company has begun to take action in this regard.

The store was started in Pune in the year 2018, after that in 3 years, 16 more stores have been opened in different cities around the country. The number of employees directly associated with the store chain are 200.
All these things happened because the business is serving a good cause and also the customers are supporting the cause, they are promoting organic production and consumption. Adrish is associated with around 12000 farmers and is helping them by providing business opportunities and training. The store is expanding its product range and now provides almost everything a person needs in daily household routine. The store also supports self-help groups which comprise of 90% women.

The store impacts farmers from the remote areas of Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and 11 other States.
