Lebaohan Workshop has been changing the mindset of employees, making their work and life much better. An open-mind makes the difference.
Lebaohan Corporation was established in 2008 by Nguyen Trung with two main core services, architectural design and interiors construction. After nine years of operating and development, Lebaohan Corporation has become a well-known company with three subsidiaries, several offices, two factories and expanded services to six areas, including construction, decoration, media, advertising, investment and training (Lebaohan, 2006).
Following a quality-oriented development strategy, Lebaohan Corporation has built trust with many well-known brands in Vietnam. The company has built numerous chain store projects such as FPT Shop, Vinpro+, Vinmart +, Trung Nguyen Coffee, and The Coffee House. They have also completed interior design and decoration for OPPO and Samsung.
Besides focusing on how to expand and grow the company, Lebaohan Corporation is very concerned about the implementation of social responsibility. This includes participating in charitable activities and donating to organizations supporting children in difficulty. In addition to community support, Lebaohan also takes care of its employees by organizing many training workshops about technical skills in architecture for staff in order to improve their capability and expertise.
The business created a special workshop called the “Lebaohan Workshop”. Unlike traditional workshops, which just focus on the technical and purely theoretical books, the Lebaohan workshop focuses on how to behave at work and how to self-develop skills.
A key success factor to the workshop is the course trainer. Because of that, the company has spent a lot of time and effort to find the most suitable person – Mr. Tu. He is currently a teaching master for University of Technology Ho Chi Minh City, and he used to participate in a master's course in the USA. After hearing the company's vision, Mr. Tu was very excited and agreed to hold the workshop. Mr. Tu has a unique way to convey the lessons on how to behave on the job, very straightforward but also very receptive.
The workshop aims to address an unmet need of blue-collar workers, mostly workers who work in the factory. These workers often have great knowledge and understanding about their job due to their practical experience. However, blue-collar workers may not know how to share that knowledge with others. Often, workers may want to keep their knowledge secret in order to compete with others in different teams. In addition, they are less willing to explore and learn new things or brainstorm new ways to improve the process quality. With the speed of our society's development in technology engineering, these problems are really challenging for the sustainable development of the company in general and the blue-collar workers in particular.
After one year of cooperation, the results of the course are very positive. The workers are more actively sharing experiences with each other, and they are willing to explore new methods, as well as listen to the opinions of others. The founders of the company are very happy and encourage their workers to keep contributing to the sustainability of themselves and the company, as well as rewarding workers who successfully master the workshop with increased salaries.
Small and medium companies in Vietnam usually do not care much about corporate social responsibility issues. In contrast, Lebaohan looks to expand activities related to CSR like the Lebaohan Workshop. Nguyen Trung, who founded the company did not hesitate to share his story: "I was born in a very poor family with many brothers and sisters. My family had to struggle to live through the difficult period of time/ My neighbor was the only support that I had, they often gave me rice so that I could cook for my family/ Now that I have achieved my dream, that I have a better life, I will never forget the joy and happiness when I received just a bowl of rice. I was in debt to my neighbors, and now I became a neighbor, help people who are now facing difficulties in their life. This is the least thing that I can do".
