1. A promise of something for everyone

4. Venture 3: Miss Amazing Pageants
As Mrs. Lall continues to strive to achieve her various goals in life, and to climb the unbalanced stairs of success, she notes that she encounters countless opportunities to help others succeed simultaneously. Over the past decade, Mrs. Lall has engaged in multiple selfless ventures that aim at “developing a positive relationship to the society in which the business operates.”
Venture 1: Charity
Most businesses would try to get rid of dead stocks in the most profitable way possible. However, such is not the case for the Bhena’s Footwear branch at 12011 Liberty Avenue South Richmond Hill, NY 11419. The dead stocks from this store are usually sorted out, neatly packed, and shipped off to the Charities of the Archdiocese of New York as an annual donation. Mrs. Lall notes that she is not concerned with the amount that the clothing and shoes are worth, she is more concerned with the differences they bring to the people wearing them.
Venture 2: Operation Smile
The Bhena’s Footwear branch at 10819 Liberty Ave, South Richmond Hill, NY 11419 is equally benefiting the society as it contributes 10% of every purchase to the Operation Smile Foundation. The foundation provides reconstructive facial surgery to indigent children and young adults who lack access to any surgical care.
Venture 3: Miss Amazing Pageants
Since 2007, Mrs. Lall has been an avid supporter of the Miss Amazing Pageants by donating all the clothing, accessories, and shoes necessary for each participant to feel like a true princess. The Miss Amazing Pageants “provide an opportunity for girls and young women with disabilities to build confidence and self-esteem in a supportive environment.”
When questioned on how she feels about her contribution to the larger society and the value of it for her, Mrs. Lall simply quoted Mr. Winston Churchill by saying, "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."
The social responsibilities fulfilled by the businesses have had impacts for both the recipients as well as the giver. Recipients are granted help with the basic survival necessities such as clothing and medical attention, which they need but lack access to. These donations help the recipients improve themselves and their perspective of life.
For the giver, making donations and contributing to the economy is a satisfying deed. It gives her a peace of mind knowing that she can make a difference and help someone who is in a situation she was once in.
