Established in London in 2019, and co-founded by James Reid and Lewis Greenwood this innovative venture operates with a dual focus: serving delicious food and fostering meaningful social change. The driving force behind Fink Street Food stems from the deeply personal experiences of its founders with mental health struggles—particularly within the high-pressure, often stressful environment of the hospitality industry. “Our personal experience with mental health challenges inspired us to pursue a sustainable, impactful approach. We believe businesses can and should make a meaningful contribution to society, which is integral to our mission and values.” Aware of the damaging impact traditional work cultures can have on mental well-being, the founders were motivated to build a business that actively counters these challenges and promotes a healthier atmosphere for both customers and employees. 

Fink was created as a response to these issues, an enterprise that nourishes not only the body but also the mind and soul. The business leverages the social and informal nature of street food to spark open, yet critical, conversations about mental health in public spaces. Through partnerships with organizations like No5 Young People, a charity offering free counselling to children and young adults aged 6 to 21, Fink ensures its mission is supported by concrete, community-based action. They donate 50% of their profits to such causes, embedding social good directly into their financial model.

They reflected"We recognised a lack of socially conscious businesses in the street food industry. Our goal was to fill this gap by combining delicious, high-quality food with measurable social impact—addressing both mental health stigma and accessibility to mental health support services." Fink’s sustainable practices have significantly reduced their carbon footprint, diverted over 10 metric tonnes of food waste emissions, and recycled enough cooking oil to offset approximately 12,000 kg of CO₂ annually.
