Stångåstaden is working hard to convert Linköping into a more sustainable city through different strategies. One of their solutions is to buy only clean energy to supply their buildings as well as invest in their own wind power stations.
Stångåstaden's sustainable mindset can be divided into three subgroups - diversity, renewable energy, and housing.
Stångåstaden have a huge responsibility in terms of providing safe and friendly areas around in Linköping. One of the ideas that they have come up with is to hire slum dwellers preferably with a second language in order to manage and provide a safe environment in subareas. They also provide a lot of different activities such as soccer & hockey tournaments to get people out of their different problems.
Another thing that Stångåstaden is focusing on is to use renewable energy in all of their facilities to decrease the effect on the environment. One of their solutions to more renewable energy was to invest in solar panels and wind power stations which they also own and manage. Stångåstaden have a goal that in 2025 shall they reduced their energy consumption by 25 percent. Due to a heavy increase in population in Linköping, has caused that the homelessness has increased. Stångåstaden is working hard to solve this problem through building at least 500 new apartments in different price ranges to meet the demand. All of these changes have led to a more sustainable city with a heavy decrease in violence, homelessness, and environmental effect.
Fredrik was very clear that Stångåstaden shall always be a step ahead. This is one of the reasons why Stångåstaden has come such a long way on their journey to a more sustainable city. "Our goal with 25/25 is very important for the whole organization and it should be acknowledged" this states that Fredri believes in their innovative way of sustainability.

A reason for the increasing satisfaction among customers could be their hard work with social and environmental sustainability. Their work with sustainable and renewable energy are an important issue for many of their customers nowadays when the environment are facing a lot of difficult challenges ahead. Their work with social responsibility are also a product of creativity from their employees which is caused by a good company culture. Stångåstaden’s work with hiring people from “problem areas” which has decreased the violence in these areas and most likely increased the satisfaction rate.
