We have executed large scale Rain Water Harvesting Projects for prominent organizations like National Institute of Oceanography, Pentair Water India Ltd, Nestle India Ltd etc. We are also running and maintaining STP plants for clients like Abbott India Ltd, Attire Hotel (Country Inn & Suites) etc."

The Environmental Solutions they offer are Rain Water Harvesting (RWH), Solid Waste Management (SWM), Waste Water Treatment Plants to remove harmful substances from the water so that it can be safely discharged into the environment, or that it can be reused for certain purposes.

The Company originally started as an IT firm and later expanded their business into Environmental solutions (SDG 6). They tied up with National Securities Depository Limited

(NSDL) to execute some back-office income tax work like permanent account number (PAN), Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number (TAN), Electronic Tax Deducted at Source (eTDS), Digital signature.

Inspiration

The leader as well as the company was very passionate about the Environment sustainability. While serving in IT sector they were looking for expansion to other sectors but they also wanted this expansion to be socially responsible, something that would make a difference to society and not just the revenue generating model. Since they had prior passion and knowledge, so their natural expansion drifted into sector of water engineering. For future, they look forward for expansion of their services to other SDGs as well. They have recently tied up with irrigation companies to help the farmers of Goa in reducing the water consumption in irrigation and reducing the manual labor required in fields for irrigation etc. Also, in terms of expansion they are looking forward to expand their services to other cities and help society in conserving water and reducing water wastage. While serving industries in Goa and expanding to other cities, Lila digital has never forgot the small individual households. They help individuals or families to setup small rain water harvesting projects and they also work with farmers who want to setup drip irrigation projects or sprinkler projects for their farmlands. thus, serving the society (Domestic and Industrial) as a whole.

Overall impact

As the company says they are "One-Stop Total Solution for Water and Waste Water Treatment Systems". While working for sewage treatment plants, they realized that corporate industries had to outsource different agencies for different water treatment jobs. That sometimes end with a blame game and also makes the process long and expensive for the industries. Being passionate about the topic of environment, they developed the expertise to handle the entire value chain, right from the tap to the treatment, says the Director. So, being the one stop solution, they became accountable for every job of water conservation and treatment for their clients and the client has a single agency to deal with for their entire water treatment or conservation process. Short term effect of business is the satisfied clients with hassle-free low-cost water treatment solutions. Further, it's long term effect is that the client is actually able to monitor the recycled water and removal of effluents by means of water meters and achieving a neutral water usage i.e you try to reuse or recharge back as much as you use.

Everybody these days wants a single point of contact for everything. Being the One-Stop solution for all water problems, they have received huge responses from industries and households as they can hold one person or agency accountable for entire work contract as well as future performance of the project instead of multiple contractors playing blame games and not resolving the issues. Hence, they take up the entire work gambit, increasing the size of the project, reducing the costs for clients and thus, making good revenues.

Social and environmental benefit

Effect of business can be seen in several areas where dry bore-wells have started yielding water, after only 2 to 3 years of setting up water harvesting and recharge projects. For the industries which have installed these plants they able to hold water from the monsoon season for 2-3 months and then able to use during other seasons. This reduces their costs of buying water from PWD at commercial prices. Also, they have reduced the maintenance costs of all water projects as clients can hold them, as a single entity, responsible for all the set up jobs as well as the future maintenance and issue resolutions in futures. This has brought peace of mind to the clients. This makes water treatment and conservation easily affordable for industries and households. Hence, Lila digital has succeeded in engaging a large piece of population in Goa (and still increasing) in water conservation efforts thus contributing to significant change in environment preservation and sustainable development of Goa.
