Summary

“Waste Heat Chiller Machine”, using waste exhaust heat from power generation or industrial process as the major energy source to get free cooling.

Innovation

  1. Using waste exhaust heat as the energy source to generate the machine.
  2. Using water and Lithium Bromide (LiBr) which are natural as refrigerant medium replacing Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC), so it is good for our ozone.
  3. The chiller machine can use many kinds of energy source like natural gas, waste heat etc., and also can produce multi output like cooling / heating air for air conditioner, and produce chilled water over 50C and hot water below 950C.
  4. To get holistic solution for energy efficiency, broad also developed technology innovation in building design and construction and also air purification. They are developing sky city concept as the next way of urbanization, one city in one building that is safe, practical, affordable, and efficient.

  1. Use less energy or more efficient in using the energy.
  2. Use waste as alternative source of energy.
  3. Business has a responsibility to create good products for the planet.
  4. Good products do not only give financial impact for corporation, but also create benefits for society and the planet. I think this is the true corporate social responsibility.
  5. In the future, consumers will demand the product that is good for them self, society, and environment.
  6. Never stop to innovate to get more holistic solution for our customer.

Overall impact

Using waste heat for their chiller gives financial, social, and other benefits for the Broad Group. The chiller also reduces the cost of cooling for their customers and creates benefit for the planet due to the reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) and chlorofluorocarbon (CFC).

Business benefit

  1. Create advantage compare to another chiller.
  2. Generate 25% - 30% of total revenue.
  3. Create efficiency of energy consumption for user.

Social and environmental benefit

  1. Reduce carbon dioxide because using waste heat.
  2. Save the ozone because using Lithium Bromide instead of chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) as refrigerant.
  3. Broad also conducts several corporate social responsibility initiatives like :
  • Donate company resource for better education,
  • Environment protection by farming around the broad headquarter office (broad town),
  • Manage the waste by separating garbage into 8 categories,
  • Educate people to be smart using energy,
  • Broad don’t give transportation subsidy like other company. They give subsidy for their employee around the world who don’t use the car and they provide dormitory for their employee in broad town,
  • Cooperation with small - medium scale enterprise.
