Pak Widodo Ariawan (COP Manager) mentioned that PT Holcim Beton, a subsidiary of PT Holcim Indonesia, is on track to implement the Corporate Social Responsibility: 3P (people, planet, profit) especially in big cities (Jakarta, Surabaya) area by developing products and services which give value added.
VAS (Value Added Solution) division at PT Holcim Beton was created to make products and serivces that closer match the customer needs (pains).
In 2013 this VAS division of PT Holcim developed Trucrete, a porous concrete which combined with a drainage system can pass water (rain water) to the ground and secure soil water level which can prevent flooding during rain season and provide soil water during dry season. Trucrete system can be implemented in pedestrian, jogging track, soccer field, and even run way in airport.
With Trucrete PT Holcim supports two from 17 of Global Goals: Clear Water and Sanitation and Climate Action.
Trucrete is a porous concrete which is designed to drain the water for more than 70% from top side to the bottom side. PT Holcim develop prototype of the product at R&D facility at Bogor and sell the products in different ways, invite the customers with the experience of the product by creating a mock up. The mockup sample is at pedestrian at Jl. Rasuna Said Jakarta around 50mx1m and real trial by pouring this pedestrian with 7m3 water using truck. The performance of Trucrete is good to flow the water to the ground and becomes soil water. Customer (Jakarta public worker department) can compare directly the performance of Trucrete with old pedestrian pathways which were made from conblock.
Trucrete also used at renovation of Indonesia National Stadion, Gelora Bung Karno especially on the jogging track. Arief Sutanto (VAS Development Specialist) who as project manager said, Trucrete is best concrete product which can become options to solve the big city issue with soil water (flooding or decrement of land level caused bad soil water management) at Jakarta.
Water is essential for our live, if we can manage the water we can manage the world.
PT Holcim Indonesia provide options to the community how to manage the water for our future.
PT Holcim Indonesia has successfully educated and delivered customer needs in creating a concrete product which is environmental friendly and supports the soil water management. PT Holcim sign MOU with Jakarta public worker department on pedestrian project.
Another public worker official from other big cities come to Jakarta for benchmarking the Trucrete implementation to improve the city infrastructure which support the environment.
Juanda Port Surabaya authority award the taxi way of airplane to Holcim using Trucrete, which has performance can quick drain rain water to the ground, which make airport environmental become perfect; dry line, and keep soil water in the ground which make land more stable.
Based on discussion with Pak Widodo Ariawan the business model of VAS with Trucrete is not only to provide useful products but also giving solutions which can grow PT Holcim Indonesia and become competitive advantage.
The CSV (Corporate Shared Values) of Trucrete is about awareness of PT Holcim Indonesia existence in sustainable business (3P) and contributed company to growth and save the planet.
With the Trucrete we can avoid flooding and soil level reducing by keep maintain the soil water as nature did.
