Here the innovation was the social responsibility of the organization to help people in the surrounding area to promote social industrial culture. It's not emerging--it’s the corporate responsibility of the organization to do work for the society, which should ultimately do something good for the nation.

Inspiration

It was not an idea for them. They took it as their responsibility to do some good work for society, which ultimately leads to growth of the nation. Basically these projects were proposed by the Board of Directors, which has monthly meetings at the head office in Delhi. KRIBHCO feels that it is a very nice thing that the industry is working for the society because they feel that the society cannot grow without industry, nor industry survive without society. Both have to work mutually to uplift the economic status of the country.

Overall impact

The initiative taken by KRIBHCO is very impactful, which is evident from the sources and proofs. When asked about the same, Mr. Amarjit said, “There is strong evidence. The education level of the surrounding rural children has increased. They are able to pursue higher education like engineering, diploma, etc. When we go to the villages, we can see that the area has developed and it is coming at par with the small cities.” It has not only benefited the business, but also the society and environment.

Business benefit

Getting involved in very effective CSR activities gives an extremely positive branding to the company. The sales of the company went up as nearby farmers got acquainted with the company and its products since it was involved in the extensive development of several of the villages around the city.

Also, through training and education of people from the nearby villages, the company’s demand for workers also was partly and easily fulfilled.

KRIBHCO benefits directly as well as indirectly. When we talk about the direct benefit, the company gets contract workers and laborers who are skilled to perform small industrial tasks, and they do not have to go outside our boundaries to hunt for labor. When we talk about the indirect benefit, as mentioned earlier, they provide training and job opportunities to the students living in nearby areas. The company sees that they are very happy working there and feels a sense of contentment after seeing their happiness.

Social and environmental benefit

There are a lot of impacts on the society. When the company started in 1983, the nearby area was not at all developed, but now the villages nearby have basic amenities such as electricity, water supply for 24 hours, schools for the overall development of children, etc. KRIBHCO provides employment opportunities to the people in the nearby rural areas and when they do not require labor, then they also provide them very good training so that they can get good jobs anywhere in India. Hence, the societies are developing and getting in line with national development.

Talking about the environment, the company organizes a program of planting trees to curb the ever-increasing pollution. In this way, KRIBHCO not only works for the sustainable development of the environment, but also makes the people living in nearby areas learn the importance of planting trees. This also helps keep their surrounding area hygienic, and they have been recycling the waste as well.
