Inspiration

The inspiration behind Sky Nurses comes from a professional as well as a personally standpoint. Tara, who is a registered nurse, came up with this innovation while working for her previous employer. Her inspiration was quite touching.

"I was performing a medical escort for a 93 year old gentleman off a cruise ship. He was on the cruise for 47 days by himself. He forgot to take his medications and he also had Parkinson's. He began falling and he couldn't control himself. Because of this they wouldn't let him off the ship until I went and got him. I brought him back but he was crying saying that he wished someone like myself could accompany him. It was very sad to me and I felt like I could offer a service that could help people get out of the home and help them see the world. This man really wanted to see the Great Wall of China but unfortunately wasn't able to and I didn't want that to happen again."

Overall impact

Sky Nurses provides a better quality of care than what is expected in today's world and has "raised the bar and are setting new standards in the world of medical transport. We provide the level of care that is indistinguishable to what hospitals provide."
