What kinds of innovations is AIM2Flourish looking for?
Social innovations- the way people agree to organize to achieve a goal or solve a problem. A more precise problem oriented definition might be "a novel solution to a social problem that is more effective, efficient, sustainable, or just than present solutions and for which the value created accrues primarily to society as a whole rather than private individuals." For example, Fair Trade, or Emissions Trading, or Charter Schools. These can be done by any group anywhere in the world regardless of economic circumstance. The “Miracle of Tefen” story is a good example too.
Process innovations - the steps people take to accomplish a goal. A formal description might be "the implementation of a new or significantly improved production or delivery method (including significant changes in techniques, equipment and/or software). For more on this please see this definition or more broadly this. The "moving assembly line" is one, too. These can be done by businesses rather easily.
There are product innovations - a material artifact whose invention changes, disrupts, or replaces what is known or solves a pernicious problem. Examples include: the automobile, the cell phone, and solar lanterns that let people leave behind dangerous kerosene lighting.
